Role Overview

In this role, you’ll underwrite new and renewal commercial surety business within an assigned territory. You’ll partner with agents, analyze financials, and contribute to profitable growth while continuing to build your expertise.

What You’ll Actually Do

• Evaluate and underwrite new and renewal commercial surety accounts 
• Analyze financial statements, credit data, and risk factors 
• Operate within established authority and escalate more complex risks as needed 
• Maintain underwriting files and support service expectations for partners 
• Build and maintain relationships with agents, brokers, and principals 
• Participate in agency visits, prospecting, and industry activities 
• Collaborate with team members in a knowledge-sharing environment 

What They’re Looking For

• Experience in commercial surety underwriting or a related field (insurance, finance, credit analysis) 
• Strong analytical and financial assessment skills 
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment 
• Clear communication skills across internal and external stakeholders 
• Relationship-oriented mindset with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team 

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, insurance, or related field (or equivalent experience) 

Work Environment

• Remote or hybrid flexibility depending on location 
• Candidates in select Midwest/Southeast states preferred 
• Occasional travel for team meetings, training, or agency visits 

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: ~$63,000 – $108,000 (based on experience and level)
