Job Description

We’re looking for an experienced Critical Systems Electrical Technician II to support UPS battery systems in mission‑critical environments. This role is ideal for a technician who already understands critical power basics and is ready to work more independently while continuing to grow.

What You’ll Do

• Perform battery installations, replacements, startups, and preventive maintenance
• Support UPS battery systems in critical facilities with minimal customer disruption
• Troubleshoot and perform routine and emergency maintenance on DC battery systems
• Read and work from schematics, drawings, and procedures (MOPs)
• Collect test data and complete reports using a laptop
• Follow all safety protocols, PPE, and arc‑flash requirements
• Support other service teams (Switchgear, Operations, HVAC) as needed
• Assist with warehouse operations and maintain clean, safe job sites
• Travel to customer sites approximately 30% or more (Locally) 

What We’re Looking For

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Clean driving record
• Prior experience with battery systems or critical power environments
• Working knowledge of AC/DC electrical theory
• Experience using electrical test equipment (multimeters, amp clamps, CTs)
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong safety awareness and customer communication skills

Technical Skills (Expected at This Level)

• Series, parallel, and series‑parallel battery connections
• Torque values, torque marking, and visual inspection standards
• Voltage isolation and lockout/tagout practices
• Use of battery testing tools (e.g., Alber Cellcorder)

Certifications

• OSHA 10‑Hour Certification
• NFPA‑70E Safety Training
