Partnering closely with merchant leaders and subject matter experts, this role leads deep needs assessments to translate complex platforms, processes, and product allocation strategies into practical, scalable learning experiences. The Learning Experience Designer brings an agile mindset, strong facilitation and collaboration skills, and a continuous learning orientation—leveraging emerging technologies, including AI, to drive efficiency, relevance, and measurable performance outcomes through blended learning and facilitation.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to identify learning opportunities and design experiences that address skill and performance gaps.
  • Design, test, and deliver agile, blended learning solutions that support merchant capabilities and evolving ways of working.

  • Leverage AI and modern L&D technologies to accelerate design, personalization, and scale while improving learner outcomes.
  • Leverage data and feedback to test, measure, and continuously refine learning solutions, driving adoption, behavior change, and capability impact
  • Stay current on L&D design trends and technologies to inform future learning strategy, priorities and continuous improvement of learning solutions.
  • Act as a learning administrator of the Learning Management System.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience building business-aligned learning/enablement in complex or matrixed environments (retail/merchant preferred).
  • Strength in needs assessment and performance diagnostics, translating business problems into scalable learning and workflow support.
  • Facilitation and consulting presence with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and enable SMEs.
  • Applied adult learning principles with agile, iterative design across blended modalities.
  • AI-curious and data-informed, comfortable experimenting to improve speed, personalization, and impact.
  • Demonstrated ability to measure impact and continuously improve based on insights.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred; tool fluency with authoring/visual tools a plus (e.g., Articulate, Canva).
  • Willingness to travel as needed.

At Foot Locker, we value innovation, authenticity, and integrity in all that we do.
